Ursula McCulloch is a clinical psychologist working in the Christchurch Paediatric Feeding Clinic for over 10 years, and has 20 years’ experience working with children in mental health services. More recently, she has been based with the CDHB Children Under Five Team.
This presentation on Working with Children with Restricted Diets looks at some of the drivers of picky eating and Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder, and common dynamics that maintain a restricted eating pattern. We also talk about some of the barriers to change this pattern, and most importantly, focus on strategies to help families encourage their children to experience new foods.
