Incredible Years Training Day for Tauiwi

Werry Workforce Whāraurau is delighted to host an Incredible Years Training Day for Tauiwi Working with Māori.

This Workshop:

We would now like to offer an opportunity to our Tauiwi (non-Māori) IYP Group Leaders to come together and continue this mahi. Many of you will be delivering to whānau Māori and will be keen to ensure you are being responsive to their needs when delivering this programme.  This is a chance to share your learnings, ask questions and hear some of the key messages gathered by your Māori colleagues.

This is an interactive and practice-based workshop where there will be opportunities for you to develop skills in engaging and delivering the Incredible Years Parent programme with Māori mātua.

Background:

Over the past 15 years, the tailoring of Ngā Tau Mīharo (Incredible Years) to more effectively meet the needs of our whānau has continued throughout Aotearoa.  Acknowledging the unique position of tangata whenua, we have been particularly focused on how to best meet the needs of whānau Māori. This mahi has been led by Incredible Years (IYP)-trained kaimahi Māori who have given their time, expertise, passion and cultural knowledge to support all practitioners delivering this programme to whānau Māori. Cultural enhancements and culturally-responsive group delivery have flourished as a result. Highly successful IYP parent groups are now provided on Marae in many regions.  We acknowledge and tautoko the commitment and passion of those who have contributed to this mahi and to the kōrero shared at Māori Hui and trainings throughout this time.
