A national mental health and addiction sector symposium hosted by Te Pou o te Whakaaro Nui and Werry Workforce Whāraurau

There is a need for change in how we respond to New Zealanders requiring mental health and addiction services. This was evidenced by the 5,500 submissions to the Government Inquiry into Mental Health and Addiction.

The inquiry report He Ara Oranga provided 40 recommendations, most of which require change in systems, processes or practice.

The Inquiry recommendations and Government’s expected response are being viewed by many - service users, whānau and the sector as an opportunity for transformational change.

How we respond to these recommendations is crucial.

Te Pou o te Whakaaro Nui and Werry Workforce Whāraurau invite leaders from mental health and addiction services to attend a one-day symposium.

The symposium provides an opportunity for managers and leaders in our mental health and addiction sector to discuss the direction and actions for sustainable change, following the findings and recommendations of the Mental Health and Addiction Inquiry.
