The ICAMH Sector Leaders' Days (held three times a year) give clinical and service leads and planning and funding managers of DHB ICAMHS/AOD, and people in senior roles in mental health and addictions services across the DHB, NGO, Primary Care and related sectors an opportunity to:
- Get up-to-date information from the Ministry of Health and national agencies
- Share innovative practice and service development ideas
- Foster networking and leadership support nationwide
- Address challenges faced within the sector

Anaru Hawkins and some of the Real staff will look at their culturally focused work across a range of ages including work they do in school settings, how they’ve incorporated kaupapa Māori concepts in a residential setting and their approach to supporting and growing Māori cultural practice in our workforce.

Dr Patti Robinson is currently in NZ to provide training for Health Improvement Practitioners (HIPs), the new Mental Health & Wellbeing role in General Practices. A priority for the Ministry of Health is rolling out this role across the country to increase access and choice to wellbeing interventions. In this presentation Patti will discuss how PCBH and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy work well transculturally. Patti will be joined by HIPs Andy Creighton from Hora Te Pai Kaupapa Māori Health Service and William Teleaga from the Porirua Community Health Centre who will share their experiences of how this model works for their communities.
