Cognitive Behaviour Therapy skills for clinicians who work with tamariki and rangatahi
in Aotearoa/New Zealand

CBT is an evidence-based therapeutic approach focusing on thoughts, emotions and behaviours to address mental health issues. Traditionally CBT training has been adult focused. Here is an opportunity to learn CBT skills for working with tamariki and rangatahi in the Aotearoa/New Zealand context.

This workshop will cover:

  • Theory and model of CBT as it applies to tamariki and rangatahi in Aotearoa/New Zealand
  • Developmental considerations when using CBT with tamariki and rangatahi
  • Creative CBT strategies for working with tamariki and rangatahi, particularly as they apply to depression, anxiety and anger

Key Outcomes:

By the end of the workshop you will:

  • Understand key theoretical principles of CBT as it applies to tamariki and rangatahi and their whānau/families in Aotearoa/New Zealand
  • Practice using CBT skills with tamariki and rangatahi who present with anxiety and depression
  • Design your own unique CBT strategies for working with tamariki and rangatahi and their whānau/families in Aotearoa/New Zealand
