The Alcohol and Drug Service is committed to empowering the community to discover healthier use of substances and to promote freedom from addiction. Your responsibilities will include individual counselling, providing services to local schools, consultation with Blenheim Police, Child Youth and Family Service, Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service and Wairau Hospital.
You will be joining our multi-disciplinary team made up of psychiatrists, mental health nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists and social workers, all trained in a range of treatment modalities.

We are looking to appoint an allied health professional (occupational therapist, or social worker) or a registered nurse, with at least 2-years’ experience within an addictions role for this permanent full-time position based in Blenheim. You will have a sound knowledge and understanding of adolescent development and behaviour, good assessment/triaging skills, as well as the skills to work with the clients and their families and whanau in a professional manner, using a multi-disciplinary approach.
You will be the type of person who fits into a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines and will engender confidence, trust and rapport with clients, their support networks and other agencies and service providers.
