About the role
The Eating Disorder Support Worker will assist and support the Specialist Eating Disorder Clinician at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) and other health professionals in the delivery of quality patient care. This will include working across multiple services including CAMHS, Paediatrics and Wahi Oranga (Inpatient Mental Health).
We work in partnership with our patients, their families, the clinical teams and community carers and supports to achieve the best possible health outcome for the patient.
This is a 12 month, fixed-term full-time position working 80 hours a fortnight.
We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills who has a real desire to work with children, youth and their families. It will be important that you have a general understanding of the impact of chronic mental health issues on functioning and well-being. It is equally important that you are able to work in a flexible and methodical manner, demonstrating reliability and use appropriate initiative.
You will have a minimum of Year 11 NCEA Level 1 English and Maths (or equivalent), and will be required to complete the NZQA Level 3: NZ Certificate in Health and Well-being - Health Assistance Strand (if not previously attained must be completed within two years of commencement).
