Reg. Mental Health Professional - ICAFS Hutt

Location:  Lower Hutt: ICAFS, MHAIDS 

Contract: Fixed Term,12 months. 24 hours/week. 



An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Infant, Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Service (ICAFS) in the Hutt Valley. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic registered Mental Health Professional (Social Worker, Psychotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse or Psychologist) with experience working in child and adolescent mental health. This part-time position (for 12 months) is based in our energetic multidisciplinary Kaiārahi team working with 0 – 18 year olds and their families/whanau. The Kaiārahi team is the ‘partnership team’ for ICAFS, providing individual, whanau, and group treatments and extended assessments following referral and initial assessment. The role will entail providing assessment and interventions to enable positive outcomes for children and young people presenting with moderate to severe mental health needs. 

This role is an integral part of the ICAFS team, and the successful applicant will be expected to work collaboratively and supportively with other team members to ensure appropriate and evidence based care is provided for these children and young people.  The person suitable for this role will have excellent clinical and case management skills and be comfortable managing risk.  They will also be able to establish and maintain excellent working relationships within the team, service, the DHB, the wider mental health services, and community agencies. 

The DHB will fund professional registration fees and the 3D MHAIDs has policies to support staff access professional development and training



  • NZ registration with appropriate professional body - social worker, psychotherapist, occupational therapist, nurse, or psychologist
  • A full drivers licence
