Registered Mental Health Professional - Kapiti CAMHS
Contract: Permanent, Full time
We are looking for an enthusiastic registered mental health professional (Social Worker, Psychotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Registered Nurse, or Psychologist) with experience working in infant, child & youth mental health. This position is based in the multidisciplinary Kapiti Child Adolescent Mental Health Team working with 0 - 18 year olds and their families/whanau. The role will entail providing initial assessments and therapeutic interventions to enable positive outcomes for infants, children and adolescents presenting with moderate to severe mental health needs. This role sits with the Mental Health, Addictions & Intellectual Disability Service (MHAIDS).
You will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and will be expected to work collaboratively and supportively with other team members to ensure appropriate and evidence based care is provided for service users. You will have excellent case management skills and be comfortable managing risk and able to establish and maintain excellent working relationships within the team, service, the DHB, the wider mental health services, and community agencies.
- Undertake “choice appointment” initial assessments and therapeutic interventions.
- Case management.
- Dutywork for urgent/crisis teamwork working with other MHAIDS teams as required.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Experience of working with people between 0-18.
- Experience of working as a registered professional in a mental health service.
- Experience as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Registration with the appropriate professional body
- A full driver’s licence
